HVG e.G.’s HACCP system is an important aid in our efforts to guarantee food safety to our customers.

HVG e.G.’s ultimate goal is to generate quality and to supply top quality hops and hop products to our customers throughout the world.

Suppliers, employees and customers are firmly integrated in our product safety and continuous development processes. The all-encompassing major goal is utmost customer satisfaction. HVG e.G. therefore developed and introduced its own HACCP system (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points). We thus fulfil our permanent duty to offer our customers safe, high-quality hops and hop products.

HACCP systems are internationally-recognised management systems, whose aim is the preventive elimination of food-related safety problems. Our HACCP system is an integral part of our QMS. It is based on a philosophy of healthy common-sense and proactive handling of food safety. Product safety problems are mostly thus already detected and remedied in the production stage.

All aspects of production were examined during the preparation of our HACCP system, from the procurement of raw materials through to the storage and distribution of the end product. The system continually determines whether a hop product is subject to a natural or process-induced safety risk.

Safety risks can be biological (above all microbiological), chemical and/or physical characteristics of a product, which can potentially cause injury or illness if consumed. Existing or potential risks are identified with the aid of our HACCP system and the risk for the end consumer is thus minimised.

The development, implementation and improvement of our HACCP system is natu-rally only one of many points which ensure that HVG e.G. can supply its international customers with reliable and harmless hops and hop products.
